قتل أكثر من 110 أشخاص في زلزال بقوة 5,9 درجات ضرب شمال غرب الصين مساء الاثنين، وفق ما أفادت وكالة أنباء الصين الجديدة الرسمية.
وقالت الوكالة إنّ الزلزال أسفر أيضاً عن أضرار مادية جسيمة، بما في ذلك انهيار مساكن، ودفع بالعديد من السكّان إلى الهروب إلى الشوارع، مشيرة إلى أنّ أعمال انتشال الضحايا والبحث عن ناجين من تحت الأنقاض تتواصل.
وطلب من أجهزة إدارة الحالات الطارئة ومكافحة الحرائق التدخل إثر الزلزال الذي وقع في الساعة 23,59 (15,59 ت غ) وطاول مناطق في مقاطعتي غانسو وكينغهاي.
ووقع الزلزال على عمق عشرة كيلومترات، بحسب المعهد الأمريكي للجيوفيزياء، على بعد حوالى مئة كلم جنوب غرب لانغشو، عاصمة مقاطعة غانسو. وأعقبته هزات ارتدادية عدة.
ومنذ الهزات الأولى، سارع عدد كبير من السكان إلى الشوارع. وأظهرت صور نشرت على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي سقوفا تنهار وحطاما على الطرق.
