Reliable information has revealed that Abdel Fattah al-Burhan held a secret meeting on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, with the military office of the Islamic Movement and the National Congress Party. The meeting was attended by Osama Abdullah, Ahmed Haroun, and representatives of the Islamic Movement’s military office within the security organs (intelligence, security services, police, and the army).
According to the leaked details, al-Burhan sought to reassure those present and to halt the media campaign against him coming from within the Islamist ranks. He stressed that all measures taken had been fully coordinated with Ali Karti, Ahmed Haroun, and Osama Abdullah. He explained that these steps were necessary to block the efforts of the UAE, the Rapid Support Forces, and Hamdok’s group, as well as to reduce international pressure.
During the meeting, al-Burhan also committed to placing all lists submitted by the Islamist leadership in the positions they designate, starting from the rank of brigadier general and below. This was seen as a clear attempt to appease Islamist officers and secure their loyalty.
Sources indicate that al-Burhan is working hard to convince officers that recent developments are the result of a prior agreement with the leadership of the Islamic Movement and its military office, as part of a political and security arrangement aimed at unifying Islamist ranks behind him.
