*Activist Mariam Um Al-Jaysh Condemns RSF Violations and Calls for Urgent Action to Uphold the Rights of People in Kordofan and Darfur*
Activist Mariam Um Al-Jaysh, Secretary for Women and Children in the Sudan Liberation Army led by Ali Haroun Al-Dod, and one of the founding women of the movement under Abdel Wahid Mohamed Nour, condemned the serious violations continuously committed by the rebellious Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against innocent civilians in the Darfur and Kordofan states. She described the ongoing abuses as a “stain on humanity and a painful failure of the international community to defend the oppressed.
In her statements, Um Al-Jaysh criticized the striking and inexplicable silence of the international community regarding the systematic crimes against citizens, emphasizing that this silence emboldens the militia to continue its aggressive practices, which threaten regional peace and security.
She called on the Sudanese Armed Forces leadership to act swiftly and decisively to end the injustices and suffering inflicted on the people of Kordofan and Darfur, while praising the resilience of the local communities and their steadfast commitment to a unified national state and the territorial integrity of Sudan
In a related context, Mariam Um Al-Jaysh strongly criticized the stance of Sultan of the Fur, Ahmed Ayoub Ali Dinar, describing his position as “shameful”. She accused Ahmed Ayoub of erasing the historical legacy of Sultan Ali Dinar, surrendering himself to narrow agendas, and *selling his cause for a pittance. Um Al-Jaysh called for his removal from leadership and the appointment of a nationally credible figure from Darfur to lead the sultanate during this critical and sensitive period facing the country.
